Objectives

This course covers essential aspects of HV/LV operational safety and practices, including safety rules, operational procedures, and compliance with electrical safety obligations. Participants will learn about schematic diagrams, system feeding arrangements, and interface requirements with the National Grid or Distribution Network Operator. The curriculum also includes in-depth study of HV/LV switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators, switches, transformers, and associated protection devices. Furthermore, the course covers switching and communication procedures, with a focus on live switching safety protocols and proving electrical equipment as dead.

This course can either be delivered at our venues or your facility.

Entry Requirements

Aimed for personnel who are being considered for HV authorisation, or need to improve their HV competency.

Assessment

The delegate becomes familiar and practiced with the relevant switchgear on their site.
