Objectives

This course aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills for safe HV/LV operational practices, covering safety rules, operational procedures, and legal obligations. Key topics include schematic diagrams, system feeding arrangements, interface requirements with the National Grid or Distribution Network Operator, HV switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, system protection, and managing electrical hazards. Additionally, switching and communication procedures, with a focus on live switching safety protocols, will be reviewed.

This course can either be delivered at our venues or your facility.

Entry Requirements

Aimed for personnel who are being considered for HV authorisation, or need to improve their HV competency.

Assessment

The students could be already authorised under the site safety rules, or leading towards a site authorisation.
