The definition of ‘learning’ could be quoted as ‘the acquisition of knowledge or skills through study, experience or being taught’.
Likewise, an old adage of applied learning could be quoted as ‘there is only one way to eat an elephant, that of one bite at a time’.
These two sound principles lie at the foundation of the Safety from the System (SftS) series of courses, where the student is taken from understanding ‘who does what’, the hazards that could be encountered as part of the System, how those hazards are mitigated, and what is ‘The System’, to being fully prepared for authorisation under a suite of safety rules as part of a Safe System of Work, e.g. SftS could be part of an individual’s safety rules pre-authorisation training programme.
Benefits
Consistency of training across the teams, leading to consistent and increased production, efficiency, and motivation.
