Background:

Since completing an industrial electrical apprenticeship at a large well known pharmaceutical company, Des has always worked in and around the electrical industry. During his career, he has taken on several roles and positions including service engineer, maintenance engineer, process technician and electrical process trainer. After retiring from his last training role he was approached by PPT and asked if he would be interested in delivering some courses for them. He now delivers several electrical training courses every year stating “I enjoy training, having been on the tools for many years, I find it immensely satisfying being able to pass on my knowledge and experience in this area”.

My Role at PPT:

Des currently delivers Electrical Multi Skilling courses for PPT and has in the past, tailored them for individual customers requirements. The target audience are employees who work in and around the electrical industry but do not necessarily have any formal training or experience in this area.

Outside of Work:

Being retired Des now has the time to do things he enjoys “I enjoy fixing and repairing things and hate to see electrical items being discarded just because they have stopped working”. Des also spends most of the summer months touring in his caravan with his wife Linda and Jack Russell, Hope.
